The sanctuary is home to 35 to 40 dogs on average at any one time. They arrive at the ranch from all over the country ... California, New York, Idaho, Georgia, and Louisiana, for example.
We have a true in-home environment at the sanctuary. The dogs live in the “dog wing” of our house, a huge open room with a solarium at the south end and windows all around. During the day they get to play in big, fully fenced yards at both the front and back of the house.
It's a wonderful sight to see all these dogs ... no matter what their disabilities ... playing with each other outdoors. Our visitors often are astonished that the dogs they see running and jumping and playing are blind or cope with some other kind of disability. This is a special place for some very special dogs.
