It’s getting a little brisk.  When Alayne and I got up this morning, it was 35 below zero.  As Kathryn and I headed out to start taking care of the horses, it was 30 below.  Alayne took this photo when we got back to the house … when it was 20 below.  That’s me on the left
and Kathryn on the right.  (I told Kathryn she kind of reminded me of a
Bedouin bride.  Alayne thought we both looked "suspicious.")  I had been as frosty as Kathryn, but in going inside just for a minute to get the camera (and to coax Alayne, who was feeding dogs, outside to take this photo), much of my frost melted!

It’s going to be another cold one tonight.  As I write this, it’s already 10 below zero with the sun still out at 5:30 p.m.

If I were there, I’d have so many layers on, I wouldn’t be able to move! Much less wait out in the polar weather for a “kodak moment.” Brrrrrrrr! All of you are just amazingly incredible & marvelous for all of the work that you are doing.
I would have loved a photo of you, Steve, pulling Lonesome George. What a feat. That must have kept your blood moving.
    Sending warmer hugs from Texas,
