Bailey_burrowing_with_his_face

In general Dachshunds love to burrow … under blankets, clothing, towels, you name it.  Anything soft and comfortable will do.  A happy Dachshund is a burrowed Dachshund.  But our little Dachshund Bailey, he of the curved back and bent rear legs, takes burrowing to new heights.  (Or is it depths?)  Even if it’s too warm to burrow completely underneath something, he is compelled to get at least some part of his body covered up.  Hence this photo above.  I’m not sure what this does for him, but it satisfies an inner need that only another Dachshund would understand!

It’s the old “if I can’t see you, you can’t see me” theory 😀 My girls do that too, with their heads under pillows.

Your Doxie’s are a ringed circus! I’ve learned a lot about the incredibly charming; burrowing, begging and no-budging breed from your site. Keep the shots coming, they add a delicious smile to my day.

Could be like people–if my feet are warm, I feel warm all over. Maybe if Bailey’s nose is warm, his whole body is warm. Didn’t you say it was getting cold outside these days?

Our Bailey burrows under our bed sheets to the bottom of the bed, and stays there, perfectly happy.
