Dog Houses Are For … Perching

There’s something about heights that Travis, our dog with a fused jaw, just loves.  I took this photo yesterday in the paddock on the east side of Widget’s House.  Travis would much rather be ON something than IN it.  Like dog houses, for instance. 

We’ll look over from the main house and see Travis sitting just like this, perched on top of a dog house.  Never in it, mind you, only on top of it.  He’ll stay perched for quite a while, sunning himself and taking in the view.

    I had the brilliant idea once to get dog houses…put them in the back of the yard where it was shady….right next to the fence…perch…right..for about two seconds till they figured out that after perch came the leap…. over the fence into the neighbors yard..and some say we’re the superior race..

    I’d love to see a video of him climbing on top of that dog house! That would have to be funny! It looks like it would be difficult to climb. Maybe he’s the “mounted dog patrol”.

    Theres my favourite boy…..looking every bit like a true Angel. All he needs are Wings added to this picture and he would surely fit the image! Some dogs like their feet planted firmly on the ground. Travis aspires to a higher duty, Lord of the Yard!!! This dog has had my heart from Day One! What a character! Good Boy, Travis!
