Yes, it’s another post with Baron in it!  I took this photo today in my office of Baron with Dolly, one of our ‘personal’ dogs.  In Baron’s story on his Web page, we wrote this about him:

"Baron likes to snuggle, too. Because he’s blind and deaf, he can’t
always read doggy social cues, so he doesn’t understand that not
everyone likes to snuggle!  Dolly, our old Dobie mix who cherishes her
private space, growls at Baron every time he lies down next to her.
("Leave me alone, kid!")  Baron, of course, can’t hear her growling at
him, and he just wants to be a love-bug with his Aunt Dolly.  Dolly
finally will get tired of growling at the non-responsive youngster
("Kids these days! They never listen!") and get up to move away."

So when I was at my computer responding to emails this afternoon, I heard the characteristic growling behind me and realized immediately what was going on:  Baron had decided to snuggle with his beloved Aunt Dolly.  I picked up the camera and got this photo.  That’s Dolly’s expression when the kid won’t leave her alone … she’s imploring me to do something, anything, to get him away. You can tell she’s already scooted as far to one side of that bed as she can go.  Her next move will be to get up and go over to the green bed and hope he doesn’t follow!

In a comment on the previous post about Baron, Christine B. asked, "Are there any doggies that sleep in the house with you and Alayne?"  The answer is, yes, seven of them — Oscar the miniature Dachshund, Helen the blind Rottie, Goldie the blind dog, Spinner the blind and deaf dog, Kenai the blind Lab, Bailey the miniature Dachshund, and Holly, our able-bodied director of ranch security.  I think that’s enough in 1,400 square feet!

I adore Baron stories. Yours is the first website I read every day, and Baron-Tales are my favorite. If I weren’t loaded down with canines and felines, he would definitely be invited here!

Our doggies Camilla & Daphne have exactly the same expression whenever our kitten Leo tries to play or snuggle with them!:-)
Dolly sure has their wholehearted sympathy!

What about sweet Goldie’s story? I’m always wondering about her… there are cute posts (about her terrific nose for sniffing out squeaky toys in delivery boxes) – but i wonder what her story is?
She’s pictured with you both? Did i miss her story somehow?

How cute !! Baron has the saddest face at times. I can’t believe Widget doesn’t sleep in the house. He seems like he’s there all the time.

After seeing Dolly’s face, from an attempted Baron snuggle session, I certainly agree that she’d rather be somewhere, anywhere else but next to Baron’s rear end, and probably any other part of him as well! Too funny!!

Dolly’s face does say it all! All the poor girl wants is some “me time”. I agree with her…”kids these days…sheesh!”
