Spinner_the_wonder_bladder

Although it seems Alayne and I spend much of our day being nothing more than glorified doormen (doorpeople?), constantly letting dogs in and out, we do have one dog who hardly ever needs or wants to use our service.  That’s blind-and-deaf Spinner, seen here snoozing away at 1:45 p.m.  Yes, that’s right, it’s nearly 2 p.m. and she still hasn’t gotten up since going to sleep the previous night.  (I took this photo last Thursday.)

We call her "wonder bladder dog" because of her amazing ability to hold her pee.  In fact, if we didn’t make her go out — which I did after taking the photo — it might be evening before she stirred.  Early Thursday afternoon I had come in from doing something outside and noticed Spinner still asleep in the living room.  I asked Alayne, "Hey, did you put Spinner out this morning?"  She said, "No, I thought you did!"

That’s when I realized I should tell the wonder bladder story.  Now, as far as Spinner was concerned, it was rather rude of me to tap her on the nose and wake her up to put her outside at 1:50 p.m.  She was perfectly content to sleep right on through the afternoon.

My only question is, where can I get one of those bladders?

Alison and I fly out of Orlando tomorrow afternoon and won’t get back to Helena until 11 p.m., and I’ll still need to drive home to the ranch, so I probably won’t be posting anything tomorrow night.

On the agenda for today: “Let the dogs in…let the dogs out…let the dogs in…let the dogs out…I think you get the message.
Those female doggies can really hold their bladder–amazing!
Safe travels to you and Alison—coming from Orlando it’s a long day! I’m sure Alayne and all the RDR residents will be thrilled to have you home!

How do ya’ll decide which dogs stay in your house and which ones stay in the cottages? I was just wondering.

I’m in line for a wonder bladder after you, Steve; amazing that Spinner can hold “it” so long!
I’ve read her profile several times in the past and read it again today; it’s really quite amazing how she uses her nose and prances around outside the cottage each morning to see what new things have developed since she was last outside. She’s a cool girl!

Too funny!! If you find out where to get one, let me know. Spinner I guess is more at peace due to less stimulation. As for me, earplugs help from time to time.
    Have a good day!

I know that there would be a line for getting those great bladders that Spinner has! Does she drink as much water as the other dogs? Looks like she’s in hibernation mode for the long winter! (Maybe she’s part bear!)
    Hugs to all,

I can think of so many ways that bladder would come in handy.
