Bailey resting on Austin

I saw this scene in the living room yesterday … little Bailey using blind Austin for a chin rest.  As I've posted before, Bailey often dozes with his face propped up on a soft squeaky toy … usually with part of the toy inside his mouth.  But this was the first time I'd seen him using another dog for a chin rest.  Alas, although Austin is a very small Beagle, his back proved to be too high for comfortable long-term dozing for Bailey, and after a few minutes, he laid his head down on the bed and went to sleep.  Sometimes you just have to work with what you've got!

My goodness don’t they look comfy?? If you have a minute, would love to see a shot of the guys in Widget’s House and the horses all snug in their stalls. No one’s getting cabin fever yet? Or has it warmed up enough to go outside again? And what is Margaret doing to occupy her time?? Details, Steve!! I need details !! 🙂

Bailey couldn’t look sweeter; I’m sure he’ll try, but sweeter than this photo would be hard to beat!

That’s a cute picture! Good thing Bailey didn’t try to put a piece of Austin in his mouth as he would a stuffed toy! You were right when you wrote a few months ago about how much sleeping goes on around there, for the dogs, of course. It seems to be the main focus of the day except when dinner is served, I’m sure! Ahhhh, the life of a dog. I have been thinking about Margaret lately too. Is she getting ready to head to Washington, D.C. for the inauguration? How many inaugural balls will she be attending?

    Hi,Steve and Alayne,
I finally took the time today and read your Blogs. Also, loved the UTube…even cried a few tears. Its become much more personal with the animals, since we had the wonderful opportunity to visit your sanctuary on Aug. 31.
I’ve just donated $100.00 (in addition to our monthly support) in memory of Wendy…our son’s cat that he had to tell “Good-bye” on Monday. She was 15 1/2 yrs. old. Even though he has two other cats, he is taking his loss very hard. He has his Mother’s love for animals.
Hope all of you are staying “warm”…we have 3 inches of snow here in Wichita, but love it…looks like Christmastime.
    Peace and Love, Linda Pechanec

Sweet snoozies! It’s a great thing to do when it’s cold outside. It’s handy to have friends around that you can use for all sorts of purposes.
    Warm hugs to all,
    ginger, Tobias & Tlingit
