Austin and Stuart playing

We had a light snowfall overnight (yes, I know it's May 13th but what the heck) and because we've had bare ground for a few weeks now, the snow was just enough to get the dogs feeling frisky this morning.  Alayne got this shot of blind Austin and deaf Stuart playing with each other soon after she let them out of their cottage.  There's something about seeing animals with two totally different disabilities roughhousing with each other that is so heartwarming.  That's Austin on the left and Stuart on the right.

These two Beagles were providing some entertainment for the other dogs, and here is Daisy watching the boys go at it:

Enter
"Rolling Dog Ranch" and our state postal code, MT for Montana,
and it will bring up our listing so you can cast your vote.  Invite your family and friends to vote, too!

One correction to what I posted this morning:  If we hold on to the No. 3 spot for the duration of the contest and win the third-prize of $3,000, we would not get the $1,000 prize for winning the most votes in Montana.  The state prize would go to the runner-up for Montana.  Thanks to Heidi for pointing this out in her blog comment.  I'm married to an attorney, you think she would have read the actual contest rules for me, right?  Sheesh!

Those are beautiful photos. I love to watch dogs play!
I didn’t recall knowing Daisy so I wandered over to your main page to read about her. I instantly noticed you had done some updating. I had a sudden cry when I saw dear Birdie’s name moved to Gone But Not Forgotten. What a special girl. I miss her a lot. I’m sad when any of your animals pass away but some affect me more. (Good grief, here I go again with the tears.)
I didn’t know Brynn died. I recall all the effort you made to try and correct her urinary problem.
Well, I just don’t know how you two do it. Sorry this is so long. I feel a little better but have to go now to redo my mascara!

Yeah, Austin found a willing playmate. You go Stuart! Love the look on Daisy’s face. She looks like she is either contemplating joining in or thinking what a couple of silly boys, always roughhousing!
Cannot believe you are still getting some snow! We are dealing with high 90’s & have hit 100 a couple of days. High humidity! But, no, none, nada, rain! Too early for this much heat!

You know, I’m a regular blog reader, and when I saw the “Gone But Not Forgotten” list, I realized I didn’t know Brynn had passed away either. Nor did I remember Babe and Kenai’s passing. I must just block it when you lose a beloved ranch resident. But for all of them, their years at the Ranch were most likely the best of their lives, and they went to the Bridge content and happy. Steve and Alayne, when you are called to Heaven, you will have a very large herd awaiting you at the Rainbow Bridge!

Brynn died?!! Oh no…I don’t remember that either. Ah geez…I was really pulling for that special little horse.
