Molly with ribbon

When I took the blind Poodle sisters, Molly and Priscilla, to the groomers at PetsMart a couple of weeks ago, the gals there not only gussied up our girls as they usually do, but this time they also tied little blue ribbons onto their ear muffs.  Now, we're not really into dogs-as-accessory-items, or dogs wearing accessory items, but I have to admit, the ribbons gave Molly and Priscilla a little extra je-ne-sais-quoi in the cute department.

The first question that came to my mind — being a practical sort — was exactly how long these ribbons would last.  Given that the girls are ranch Poodles and not New York 5th Avenue Poodles, if you know what I mean, I didn't give the ribbons much of a chance of surviving.  Well, as you can see from the photo I took this afternoon, Molly's ribbons so far have lasted exactly two weeks as of tomorrow.  As for Priscilla, her ribbons lasted through yesterday, almost making two weeks.  That was much longer than I expected.  I figured Molly and Priscilla's no-good hound dog boyfriend, Trooper, would have eaten both sets of ribbons within the first few days.

Through 3 generations of multiple rescue dogs I have found that all of them males and females alike seem to like having ribbons on their collars (never had them on the ears). Your girls as always look like refined southern belles on their way to a tea dance.

Wow, two weeks…very sweet! You can take the girl out of NY but you can’t take the NY out of the poodle! The beginning of winter at RDR as evident in the photo. Molly looked great on the Jack Hana show too!

For some reason, this picture reminds of of Green Acres, lol….”New York is where I’d rather stay, I get allergic smelling hay”…..

The petite bows do add more cuteness and I would never have guessed they would be lasted 2 weeks…in a ranch dog!

I know I read Trooper’s story after he came to you, but it’s so heartwarming to read it, again, from the perspective of time!
We are with you on the questions of dogs-as-accessories and accessories on dogs. My stomach sort of knots up, when I see what some people do to their dogs (think about Christmas, Halloween, etc.).

You mean to say that Alayne never does any girlie stuff? Do Montana females all by-pass everything feminine? I’m guessing not and how cute the bows look. Tell the PetsMarts groomer gals well done and do it again!.

Ah, turning into a couple of little divas? Maybe told the other dogs when they got home that if anyone messes w/ their bows they wouldn’t get to dance w/ them at the next ball!
We used to have a male poodle that they would put a bow in his hair & when he got home between him & our male beagle they had the bows out in a matter of hours. What a blow to his male ego!

Have to agree with the Green Acres suggestion — I can just hear the theme music playing in the background — too funny!!
