Daisy at lunch

I got this shot on Saturday, when I looked over from the dining table and saw Daisy staring at us with this earnest expression … possibly bordering on dismay.  She was in the living room and we were safely in the dining room, behind the "Barbarian's Gate" we put up last year to allow ourselves some meals without being pestered for handouts. Yes, we were having lunch and she was not.  Hence the problem as far as she was concerned.

Yes, it's starting all over again!  The latest round of the Shelter Challenge begins Monday, January 18th.  We just received last Wednesday the $20,000 check for the Grand Prize from the previous contest that ended in December — wow, what a treat that was to get!  Looks like they have changed the prize amounts for this round … but plenty of money to help the animals!

Click here to vote starting on Monday.

Just like last time, enter "Rolling Dog Ranch" and our state code, MT, for Montana, to bring up our listing.

Thank you!

Did they get rid of the rule that past grand prize winners are not eligible? Because I remember Best Friends wasn’t eligible to win the grand prize last time around.
I couldn’t find it anywhere on the page so Rolling Dog Ranch must be eligible to win the grand prize!

This is good news! The withdrawal pains associated with not being able to identify an animal each day were becoming a little too much!!

Michelle, that rule is still in place. RDR can still win a weekly prize.
They may have won the very last $20k grant, though. Whew!

Here we go again! I have to admit, I’ve been feeling a little restless every morning when I get to work and I don’t have priority #1 in place: VOTE!
1,000 is nothing to sneeze at. Pull together, troops! We can win that easily.
Daisy is the cutest! I love her ears!

I love the picture of Daisy. What a sweet face. Again, THANK YOU Steven and Alayne for all that you do for these precious little souls. Every time I read your blog I am inspired and awestruck. You make this world a better place for us all.

This is a new year so it’s no holds barred – Best Friends would have been twice in the same calendar year so they couldn’t win the biggie. Life is now back to normal – clicking every day for RDR – it’s habit forming!! Good luck and happy clicks!

Ha, I love the look Daisy is giving you all. I laughed out loud when I saw this pic & post with it! Glad you all are able to eat in peace but getting “the look” must be a little hard though!
When I clicked today I saw voting had begun & I have submitted my first vote for RDR!!!

Hi! The rule is that a group can can only win one grand prize in the same calendar year — As of 01/01/2010, it’s a clean slate for everyone, so Rolling Dog or Best Friends can win the Grand Prize in this FIRST Shelter+ Challenge of 2010. Or someone new. It all depends on the voters.
We’ve split the $100,000 in this Challenge into 85 grants this time, more to go around for everyone as per site visitors requests.

I, too, have missed voting. It’s been like not being able to brush my teeth, or something; it was part of my morning routine and, now, it will be again! Glad you got in under the wire for the $20,000!
